This design was originally made to be worn in the Tropics in the far reaches of the British Empire in 1911. The material is made from 100% pure natural silk that is treated with the Barbour secret formulation of oils and waxes, providing the lightest drape and unique protection from the weather.
Flyweight Wax
The Flyweight is Barbour’s new and the lightest ever cotton since 1894. With its specially woven high density cotton base this 4oz wax is a third lighter than its regular weight equivalent making it the ideal jacket to keep handy when the seasons change.
Quilts
Originally designed as a stable jacket over 30 years ago, Barbour quilts have always been very popular. Warm and lightweight, they are both stylish and functional. Typically fashioned with a diamond quilted nylon outer and two large pockets at the front, the Quilts are also available in even lighter weights, for the Spring Summer season.
